Breeze through complex math problems or work on complicated engineering designs with an advanced graphing calculator from Texas Instruments. The TI-84 Plus offers a. How to Charge a TI- 8. Plus CThe TI- 8. 4 Plus C Silver Edition is a graphing calculator with a sharp full- color screen. This device can do everything from import photos for real- world applications to use color- coded graphs and data for distinguishing between multiple functions. With 2. 1KB of RAM available, an interactive graphing and analysis system, and extra features such as business functions, this calculator is very capable and useful for everything from calculus class to a job in finance. The TI battery the calculator uses is a durable and energy- saving, too. Though the lithium- ion battery doesn't need to be charged often, sooner or later the battery will get low and then completely discharge. Like with a cell phone, correctly recharging is crucial to the battery's performance and lifespan. That's why all owners should know how to charge a TI- 8. Plus C. When to Charge the TI- 8. Plus CBefore it's first used, the TI- 8. Plus C Silver Edition must be charged until it is completely full. The initial charge should take roughly six hours. On the right side of the Texas Instruments (TI) calculator, an LED light shines amber when charging is in process, and green once the charge has finished. After the charge is complete, begin using. The battery should last two weeks to several months before a recharge is needed, depending on level of use. The battery status icon in the top right corner of the screen tells users the level of charge. An almost full green bar indicates 7. Once the red appears, it's time to charge. A lightning bolt icon indicates a charge in progress. To guarantee optimal performance, a charge typically takes four to six hours. To better preserve the battery, be sure to not remove the battery while charging and to not let it stay plugged into the charger for long once the LED light is green. How to Back up Data on a TI- 8. Plus CNote that, when the TI- 8. Plus C battery gets low, users may have to archive their variables, as RAM memory can disappear if the calculator battery completely discharges. This is why it's important to charge before the battery's completely depleted. Also, as an extra precaution, simply use a USB cable (provided with the TI- 8. Plus C) to transfer data from the calculator. A Note About TI- 8. Plus CIf not using the TI- 8. Plus C charger from the original equipment manufacturer, ensure it's compatible with the graphing calculator prior to attempting a charge. Using chargers with a power output that's too low can result in slow (sometimes extremely slow) charging speeds, and even sometimes it simply won't charge. If the calculator draws too much current, it could simply damage the charger and the battery as well. So, ensure compatibility prior to buying third- party chargers. Ways to Charge a TI- 8. Plus CThere are three main ways to charge a TI- 8. Plus C. Typically, using the method that is most convenient is fine. Also, be aware that two of the charging methods require purchasing extra equipment. Plug into a Computer. For a successful connection to be established, users must first install a USB driver by downloading the TI Connect software offered by Texas Instruments onto the computer. The TI- 8. 4 Plus C Silver Edition has a USB port, and a USB cable can be used to link the device to a desktop or notebook computer for charging. Since this cable is packaged with the graphing calculator, this is a convenient and simple method for most users. Plug into the Wall. To charge via a wall outlet, users must first get an AC adapter (charger) that suits the TI- 8. Plus C battery. This ensures a safe and efficient charge. Simply connect the adapter to the calculator's charging port and then connect to the wall outlet. Plug into a TI Charging Station. The TI- 8. 4 Plus C charging station, which can charge up to 1. It connects with the wall outlet via a power adapter cord. Prior to aligning the calculator into one of the ten slots, remove the slide case and make sure the calculator is facing the same direction as the charging station; having the front of the calculator face the back of the charging station can result in damage to the device. Additionally, charge on a flat surface table. How to Buy a TI- 8. Plus C on e. Bay. TI- 8. 4 Plus C calculators and supplies for charging the device can be bought at brick and mortar stores and online. Bay, for instance, has TI charging stations, USB cables, replacement batteries, and more in stock. To find the right product, search on the main page, and then when e. Plus CE Graphing Calculator, Black : Electronics. UPDATE 1. 1/9/2. 01. Hi everyone, I had to knock off a star for small reasons. After using this for a couple months, I still haven't changed my opinions, but I need to get my point across. While this is by far the best calculator for the price, especially with the updated memory, here are the issues I have. While I must admit I have an early production unit, I am sure these issue must be fixed. Anyhow, I noticed a lot of dust and crumbs get behind the screen for some reason. Tapping the screen makes it move around which is kinda annoying. Also, the front piece of the calculator is a fingerprint magnet. While it looks nice when its clean, it gets dirty quick. Another issue is over time the battery gets weaker. It is still great, but not as great as it used to be, but this is expected. Granted I use my calculator a lot (Games and Math), and its been through some cycles. Battery is still great and can last a month for basic use. I also noticed the logo TI- 8. CE logo on the top is a bit curved, as in its kinda bent upwards, OCD TRIGGER. Its hard to tell in the pics provided, its like a 5° incline. Still recommend this calculator, and look no further for a different one. CONTINUED REVIEWThis is by far the best Texas Instrument Calculator i have personally used. Nspire line up. The rechargeable feature is a really nice addition too. The calculator itself is beautiful, with its matte white finish on the case and back, and on the front the glossy black texture, its absolutely stunningly gorgeous. Earlier on I was ranting on how none of the programs worked, and here is why. When you are downloading the TI - Connect program, You cannot download the one one that is outdated (Version 4. You must go on the TI - 8. CE manufacturer website and download TI Connect™ CE Software from under the Accessories tab (For ease of access: http: //education. F7. CEC0. 74. A2. DAFD7. EE5. 64. 61. The newer TI - Connect software has the version number 5. This one works perfectly with my calculator, and now I'm able to play PAC - man in class. Conclusion: I love this calculator and would recommend it to everyone I know. Its is gorgeous, sleek, fast, and has multiple nice add- ons Such as the charger and cable, Mini USB (Type A Male) to Mini USB (Type B male) cable.
